Gammelstad Kyrkbyn

Gammelstad Church Village, a UNESCO world heritage site, is beautiful both in the summer and in the snow. Its wood-built houses were only used on Sundays or big church holidays by those worshipers from the countryside who could not return on the same day because of the distance they had to travel home. Today, most of the houses are privately owned, but have to be preserved in their original condition.

Today was another beautiful day and on my way to an appointment I stopped here along the way for a short walk. The sunshine was beautiful and the glistening snow added to the feeling of being in a winter wonderland.

Just thought, I’d drop a few snapshots here.
